Here is the first leaked clip from the new Todd Haynes film "I'm Not There", about the life and times of Bob Dylan. This clip done in the style of the influential documentary Don't Look Back features David Cross as Allen Ginsberg and Cate Blanchett as Bob Dylan. Yes, Cate Blanchett as Bob Fucking Dylan.
You know, there are probably a lot more people out there who think this is the role Cross was meant to play, rather than, say, Bob was the role Cate Blanchett was meant to play.
However, watching this you have to consider that if you're a full-blown Bobolator who has always harbored a secret fantasy to fuck your idol, chances are you are in heaven when Blanchett dons a scruffy wig and chunky black sunglasses.

The newest addition to NYC's never-ending quest to eek out public space from the margins of society (or wealthy developers trying to slap a happy face on a significant loss of NYC affordable housing), StuyTown has introduced a new series of free shows called Concerts on the Oval, every Wednesday until August 8th at 6:30pm. To get to the oval, you walk into the housing project on the First Avenue Loop, off 1st Ave. and 17th/19th Street. I will see you at Escort on July 25.

Here for the annals of pop phenomenology is proof that Billy Corgan watches Animal Planet and loves the movie Ghostbusters 2. See, he's just like you and me!
Then watch this video:
That poor coyote! I bet he's hoping that lizard doesn't have AIDS.
Now take a look at the cover art to the new Pumpkins album:

At "The Yard," the site formerly known as the Issue Project Room on Carroll Street and the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn.
Back in April I saw Rick Moody and the Wingdale Community Singers perform here. Now, the IPR (as far as I know) has lost its lease, and Meanred Productions, a production/promotion company of dance and world music, has essentially taken over the site's programming for the summer.
